Abitibi Now Up-to-Date With Hotello

The Coutu family have been hotel owners for three generations. Suzanne and Daniel, owners of the Alpin and Mistral motels, wanted to computerize their businesses.

" We looked for over a year-and-a-half," said Suzanne, "before we heard about Hotello. We saw a demo and I was very impressed. It was everything we were looking for. Hotello has now been installed in both our hotels and is working well. Everyone has adapted quickly to the software, even our employees who never touched a mouse before found it easy to use."

Eight new hotels have installed Hotello Classique. Some of the hotels were using Excel but the majority were not even computerized. All were happily surprised with the flexibility of the software and the easy-to-use format. Ricardo Catzin, manager of the Vista Caribe hotel, said that Hotello is perfect for managing all the different Mexican taxes. Claudine le Corr from the Alhambra hotel noted that the software will facilitate the receptionist's job of keeping track of long-time European clients.

Centre 7400

Open since 1921 and providing services to young hearing-impaired people, this establishment has seen its role change over the years. Centre 7400 now offers its services to non-profit organizations working in the educational, pastoral and charitable sectors. The administrators acquired Hotello software in the autumn of 2002 in order to manage their 51 rooms and numerous meeting rooms in this immense establishment. The Hotello users, who had worked with registers before, quickly became accustomed to this new software and do not wish to go back to their old method.

O’berge du village Magog

Most of the joint owners of the 119 unit O'berge du Village Magog rent their condominiums. The joint owners' union and the housing agency made the decision to computerize their operations in order to improve condo management and enter the era of new technologies. When we were presented with Hotello Mezzo, says Daniel Hudon, computer technician and member of the board of directors, I was seduced by the software's potential. It corresponded exactly to what we were looking for: a Windows environment, a multitude of reports, user-friendly and a professional appearance. In the near future, I also see the possibility of using the Internet to publish the rental availability of the joint owners' units.

Bourbon Hotel Complex

Facing an expansion project for the hotel in the Bourbon Hotel Complex, the owner decided to update his older hotel management system, written for DOS, with a more user-friendly software utilizing a Windows platform and adapted to new technologies. He opted for Hotello Classique because it offers the possibility of adding, at any time, the interfaces required for centralizing the management of all operations. This immense complex, situated on Saint-Catherine St. East in Montreal, in the heart of the Village, consists of several bars and restaurants, including the Club Sandwich which is open 24 hours a day, a pool room and the famous Backtrack discothèque.

I used to work with Access and Excel and always had little notes pasted all over my papers. What I like about Hotello classique is that it allows me to write these notes directly into the guest folio and, at the time of the reservation, I may quickly identify my customer. The reports also allow me to make comparisons between seasons.

Hôtel Nelligan

The Nelligan Hotel, located in the heart of Old Montreal, has used Hotellissimo since its opening in June of 2002. General manager Kevin Gillespie says that Hotellissimo has all the advantages of the larger systems that he has worked with in the past but with the advantage of an affordable price suited for hotels the size of Nelligan, which has 63 rooms. The software is very easy to use and hotel personnel adapt to it quickly. Since the opening of the hotel I have appreciated the reliability of the software and the efficient collaboration of the Mingus Software technical team. The quality of a company's customer service is a decisive factor in the choice of hotel management software.
